The NETGEAR Align Controller (GB406) is the purpose-built “layer above” the switches, designed to simplify and strengthen your entire AV ecosystem.


## Every Critical Service in One Appliance


The GB406 eliminates the need for multiple discrete devices by running critical services natively: Onboard Grandmaster timing: PTPv2 with SMPTE ST 2110 / ST 2059-2 / AES67 and gPTP AVB support for sub-microsecond synchronisation.
Core network services: DHCP, DNS, NTP and Syslog run directly on the appliance.
Engage host: serves as the central host for the NETGEAR Engage Controller, providing a streamlined interface to configure AV infrastructure.


## Manage from Anywhere


With the GB406 you no longer need to be in the rack room to stay in control: Local management: up to five concurrent local users via a browser-based GUI.
Secure remote access: with an optional licence (GB406P60-10000S), NETGEAR Insight provides secure cloud access for monitoring system health and troubleshooting remotely.

## Built to Grow: an Open Platform


The Align Controller is built on Ubuntu and Docker as an open platform. It currently hosts core NETGEAR services and is engineered to support third-party applications , soon to be available through the NETGEAR Store.

**Q: Can the GB406 run third-party applications?**

A: It is designed as an open platform on Ubuntu and Docker. Third-party applications are planned via the NETGEAR Store; running them beyond the initial 3-month trial requires the optional 5-year electronic licence.

**Q: How does remote management work?**

A: Through the NETGEAR Insight cloud portal (Insight 10.0 — site-wide visibility and zero-touch provisioning). The GB406 includes a 3-month initial remote-access period; after that, the GB406P60-10000S 5-year licence is required.

**Q: What timing standards does it support?**

A: Onboard PTPv2 Grandmaster with SMPTE ST 2110 / ST 2059-2 / AES67 and gPTP AVB for sub-microsecond AV synchronisation.
