Ubiquiti's G6 Edge series is the most significant Protect camera refresh in years. The headline is intelligence at the edge: each camera converts raw video into useful detections on the device itself, then streams the results — no manual provisioning required.

Three form factors: dome, turret and bullet
Large 1/1.2-inch image sensors with 2.36× varifocal optics

**Q: Do G6 cameras need a subscription?**

A: No. UniFi Protect is license-free — you buy the cameras and a recorder (or a gateway with Protect built in) and that's it.

**Q: Can I add G6 cameras to an existing UniFi Protect system?**

A: Yes. They join the same Protect application as your existing cameras and record to your existing UNVR or Protect-capable gateway.

**Q: Which G6 should I pick for a driveway or carpark?**
