UniFi Network 10.4: eBGP, IPv6 WireGuard and Smarter Site Orchestration

UniFi Network 10.4 brings native eBGP routing, IPv6 detection with WireGuard over IPv6, Teleport VPN behind CG-NAT, 5G radio telemetry and Blueprint sync across sites. Here's the release rundown.

Released 19 May 2026. UniFi Network 10.4 is a free software update for compatible UniFi gateways and consoles.

UniFi Network 10.4 is a meaty release aimed squarely at larger and more advanced deployments. Ubiquiti calls it "major advancements in routing, resiliency, VPN connectivity, and large-scale site orchestration" — and for once that's not marketing fluff.

Routing grows up: native eBGP

The standout is native eBGP support in the Routing Table. Enterprise routing and ISP peering that previously meant dropping in a separate router can now run on the UniFi gateway itself. Pair it with a higher-tier gateway that supports dynamic routing and you have a serious edge.

Everything else worth knowing

  • Automatic IPv6 capability detection, with WireGuard VPN over IPv6
  • Teleport VPN for reliable remote access behind CG-NAT
  • Historical interconnect visibility built into the topology view
  • Full 5G radio telemetry in the UI — bands in use and radio health
  • Configurable UPS battery thresholds for better outage resilience
  • Blueprint synchronisation across sites in Site Manager

Which hardware gets the most from 10.4?

Dynamic routing and high IDS/IPS throughput are where the higher-tier gateways earn their keep. If eBGP and large-scale orchestration are on your roadmap, these are the consoles to look at.

No — UniFi software is free. 10.4 rolls out to compatible gateways and consoles through the normal update channel.

Almost certainly not. eBGP is for multi-site enterprises and ISP peering. Home and small-business users benefit more from the VPN, IPv6 and resilience improvements.

A zero-config WireGuard-based remote access VPN. 10.4 makes it work reliably even when your connection is behind carrier-grade NAT (CG-NAT), which is increasingly common on Australian fixed-wireless and 4G/5G plans.
