Ubiquiti Dream Machine Beast: The New Flagship UniFi Gateway

Ubiquiti's Dream Machine Beast is a hyperscale UniFi gateway built on Arm Neoverse N2 compute, with Shadow Mode hardware redundancy and built-in threat protection. Here's what Ubiquiti has confirmed so far.

Announced 29 April 2026. The Dream Machine Beast is coming soon — Australian pricing and availability are still to be confirmed. The specs below are what Ubiquiti has stated publicly; we'll update this post with local pricing once it lands.

Ubiquiti has never been shy about the top of its gateway line, but the Dream Machine Beast is positioned as a genuine step up — a single appliance meant to run both the network and physical security for large, demanding sites.

What Ubiquiti has confirmed

  • High-performance Arm Neoverse N2 compute architecture
  • Shadow Mode for hardware-level redundancy using VRRP
  • Advanced threat protection with real-time traffic inspection built in
  • Consolidates networking and physical security into one appliance and interface
  • License-free, with continuous UniFi OS updates
  • Designed for high routing and VPN throughput without bottlenecks

"This is not just an upgraded UniFi gateway," Ubiquiti says, "it is a long-term solution built to evolve alongside your needs."

Where it sits in the line-up

If the Beast is more than you need, the existing flagship — the Dream Machine Pro Max — is already an excellent all-in-one for most businesses, and the Cloud Gateway range covers everything from home offices up. See our buying guide to place yourself in the range.

Ubiquiti announced it in April 2026 with availability rolling out through 2026. We'll list it on tech2have.com.au with AUD pricing as soon as stock is confirmed — contact us to register interest.

That's the design intent: routing, IDS/IPS threat inspection and UniFi Protect video all run on the one appliance. For very large camera counts a dedicated NVR may still make sense — we can help you size it.

No. Like the rest of UniFi, the Beast is license-free with continuous UniFi OS updates included.
