Read about Surveillance & Access Control
Protect your premises end to end with UniFi Protect cameras, recorders, video doorbells and UniFi Access door control.
What do I need for a UniFi Protect camera system?
Three things: the cameras, a recorder (a UniFi NVR, Cloud Key or a console with Protect built in) for storage and the app, and a way to power the cameras — usually a PoE switch.
Dome, bullet, turret or PTZ — which camera?
Domes and turrets suit discreet indoor/ceiling coverage, bullets are great for clearly-visible outdoor deterrence and longer range, and PTZ cameras pan/tilt/zoom to actively track large areas.
Do I need an NVR?
You need somewhere to record. A dedicated NVR or Cloud Key Plus adds reliable local storage and 24/7 recording; some consoles include Protect storage. Plan capacity for how many cameras and how many days of footage you want to keep.
What is UniFi Access?
UniFi Access is door entry control — readers, hubs, electric/magnetic locks and keycards managed from the same UniFi platform, so you can grant and revoke access remotely.
